The ARRI Tungsten Softlights, with their unique optical design and rugged construction, complement the ARRI Spotlight range, particularly for studio use but also on location where large area softlights are required. Light is emitted from virtually the entire frontal rectangular area and, as a result, the units can be positioned close together to provide larger area multiple arrays of softlights as and when required.
The reflectors are coated with a specially formulated heat resistant paint which refuses to discolour - original units are unchanged after many years of use! More importantly, there is no colour temperature shift from these matt finished indirect reflectors - whether old or new.
The egg crate, hinged and removable for bulb replacement, is an integral part of the optical design and provides considerable beam-edge control.
Each bulb is separately protected by an over-current sensor device. Automatic trip circuit breakers are used on the manual softlights and re-settable push-button breakers on the pole operated units.
Slot-in removable colour frames are fitted on both 5kW and 2.5kW softlights.
These are true large area softlights for the discerning professional lighting director.
