celexon Toslink Optical Audio Cable 10.0m - Professional Line

The optical celexon Toslink audio cable transmits digital stereo and multi-channel audio signals in the best quality and is therefore ideally suited for connecting input and output devices via the connector usually labelled "Toslink".

Using the SPDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) interface, audio signals are transmitted uncompressed and losslessly. The key difference from digital cinch cables, which also transmit audio signals via the SPDIF interface, is that this is a fibre optic cable that transmits signals via light pulses. This technology has the advantage that galvanic isolation prevents different ground potentials from forming, thus avoiding ground loops.

Originally developed in the 1980s by Toshiba, this technology has since become established across all manufacturers.
