How a Fog Machine Works

Understanding the mechanics behind a fog machine helps you choose the right unit and maintain it correctly.

In a standard vaporiser fog machine, a small pump draws fog fluid from the tank and forces it through a narrow heating element — typically a block of aluminium or brass with an internal channel.
