The XES-2T6 is a Gigabit Ethernet switch with six plus two ports.

Two of these ports are bundled, allowing a connection with redundancy and increased throughput to be established. The remaining six ports can be individually assigned to groups (IEEE 802.1Q VLANs) and participate in completely independent networks. Thanks to the graphical OLED display and encoder wheel, as well as a button for each of the six configurable ports, the switch is very easy to set up. The grouping and fast, redundant, bundled line make the switch ideal for connecting the stage to the FOH, for example. As a Layer 2 switch, the XES-2T6 is generally application-agnostic and therefore works with any protocol based on TCP/IP, as well as many Ethernet-based protocols. However, special precautions have been taken to ensure that the XES-2T6 works flawlessly with Art-Net, sACN, and Dante. The Art-Net specification, for example, assumes that a controller only sends data every few seconds or when updates are available. A typical switch could go into sleep mode when no data is observed, while the XES-2T6 remains ready to forward data immediately at any time. With the increasing prevalence of TCP/IP and Ethernet-based protocols, the availability of network equipment is becoming increasingly critical. It is therefore essential that the network is professionally planned, configured, and installed for each show or facility. To further reduce the likelihood of network failure, the XES-2T6 has been equipped with two separate switching power supplies.
